Diet tinggi asam lemak jenuh menyebabkan infertilitas pada pria: peran aksis usus-testis
Abstract
Tujuan : Memaparkan efek diet tinggi asam lemak jenuh terhadap infertilitas pada pria melalui aksis usus-testis. Metode: Studi literatur. Hasil: Peran aksis usus-testis telah terbukti mempengaruhi kesuburan pria. Pusat aksis ini adalah mikrobiota usus. Dalam kondisi eubiosis terdapat hubungan simbiosis antara mikrobiota usus dan testis. Sedangkan pada kondisi disbiosis, salah satunya akibat diet tinggi asam lemak jenuh, terjadi peningkatan endotoksin berupa lipopolisakarida (LPS) serta penurunan asam lemak rantai pendek (SCFA) yang berperan sebagai antiinflamasi. Kondisi ini menyebakan hilangnya integritas epitel usus, sehingga terjadi translokasi bakteri dan sitokin inflamasi kedalam sirkulasi sistemik. Inflamasi tingkat rendah disistemik merusak integritas barier darah-testis, sehingga mengganggu spermatogenesis dan menekan kualitas semen. Mengembalikan kondisi eubiosis usus dapat memperbaiki integritas barier darah-testis sehingga meningkatkan kualitas semen. Kesimpulan: Diet tinggi lemak jenuh menyebabkan inflamasi tingkat rendah kronis yang dapat menyebabkan infertilitas pada pria.
